Alumni Association Initiated

Mr. Steven Koutsis, Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Mauritania presided today at the formal initiation of an Alumni Association for those who have participated in State Department-sponsored exchange programs to the United States. The ceremony was held at the Hotel Mercure.

The goal of the Association is to allow each of its members to build on their exchange experiences and expand the field of professional cooperation with fellow Alumni throughout the world.  The Association will also work to support  mutual understanding between peoples and nations through discussion and community service projects.

The Association will accomplish its work through conferences, debates, political forums, book translations, social events, and media programs.

The Alumni Association will serve as a convenient forum in which its members can strengthen the concepts they explored during their exchange experiences.
