Arrival of new US Ambassador in Mauritania

The U.S. Embassy in Mauritania has the honor to announce the arrival in Nouakchott yesterday, Tuesday November 20, 2007, of His Excellency Mister Mark M. Boulware. He was appointed on July 26 by U.S. President George W. Bush, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

Ambassador Boulware is from Texas and is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. He most recently served as Faculty Advisor at the National War College. Prior to this, he served as Consul General at the United States Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro. Earlier in his career, he served as Deputy Chief of Mission in San Salvador and Cameroun.

Ambassador Boulware received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Midwestern State University. He is married to Nora Jean Boulware. They have three sons.
