A Delegation from Congress Pays Visit to Mauritania
A delegation composed by six members of the U.S. Congress and headed by Senator James Inhofe, Senator of Oklahoma started a working visit to Mauritania this morning.
During its visit to Nouakchott, the delegation met with the Mauritanian President, Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdallahi. The meeting was attended by Mark Boulware, Ambassador of the United States of America in Mauritania, and focused on the traditionally excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and on ways and means to further strengthen support for the positive developments in the political, economic, and institutional fields. The US delegation also held meetings with other important personalities including the Minister ad Interim of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.
The visit of these Congressmen, who are accompanied by their wives, reflects the very positive development of relations between the two countries in recent years.
This important bipartisan delegation includes the following Republican and Democratic members of Congress:

- Representative Robert Aderholt of Alabama
- Representative Dan Boren of Oklahoma
- Representative Tim Walberg of Michigan
