Embassy Funds Projects
Embassy Funds Projects
On May 23, U.S. Ambassador Jo Ellen Powell signed memorandums of understanding to fund seven projects in Mauritania. This marked the launching of an assistance program facilitated by the U.S. Embassy and funded by the African Development Fund. $50,000, or nearly 14,500,000 Ouguiya in total, was allocated to fund projects in the field of agriculture and artisanal craftsmanship in the Tagant, Gorgol, and Assaba regions of Mauritania. It is estimated that approximately 2,000 people will benefit from these initiatives.
