United States Support Human Rights in Mauritania

His Excellency Mark Boulware, Ambassador of the United States in Mauritania, presided this morning at the Embassy compound, over a signing ceremony of a financing agreement between United States Embassy in Mauritania and three Mauritanian NGOs. The funded projects will target respect for human rights and support for Mauritanian refugees coming back from Mali and Senegal. The global amount of this funding is $40000 under the “Democracy and Human Rights Program’’.

Here is the list of beneficiary organizations :

Association of Women Heads of Family: Funding the construction of a support center for women who are victims of violence.

Together for Awareness and Development Association: Funding social and judicial support center for Mauritanian refugees coming back from Senegal.

NGO For Rescue: Funding activities of awareness and mobilization in Twill for the support of Mauritanian refugees coming back from Mali.
