Two training workshops for Mauritanian journalists

The U.S. Embassy in Mauritania, as part of its efforts undertaken to support the democratic process in Mauritania, organizes today Monday, February 26, 2007 two training workshops for 50 public and private press journalists in collaboration with the High Authority of the Press and Broadcast Media (HAPA).

The first two days training workshop was opened by Mr. Steven Koutsis, the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy, in favor of Arabic speaker journalists. The second one will be opened Wednesday, February 28, 2007 by the Ambassador Charles H.Twining, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Nouakchott.

The two training workshops have the topic “principles of journalism”. they will be led by Madame Magda Abu-Fadil,  journalist and director of the professional institute of journalism at the Lebanese American University (LAU).
