United States Embassy supports education in Mauritania, through offering English learning courses to 80 students

His Excellency Ambassador Mark Boulware, the United State Ambassador in Nouakchott, has presided this morning along with Mrs.  Nebghouha Mint Mohamed Vall the Mauritanian Minister of national education the ceremony for launching the ’English Access Microscholarship Program’’.

This program will enable 80 pupils of 14 to 18 years old, from different secondary schools in Sebkha, El Mina, Arafat and Dar Naim, to take English courses at the Nouakchott English Center (NEC) for two school years, in parallel with their regular studies, to help them improve their level in English.

The United States embassy in Mauritania will take in charge all the fees of these courses; school’s supplies, transportations and other educational activities for all the pupils involved in this program.  These have been estimated at 80,000 US Dollars (around 22 millions ouguiya).
