Governor of Nouadhibou,
Hakem of Nouadhibou,
Mayor of Nouadhibou,
Mr Representative of the Commissioner in charge of Social Protection and Food Security,
Mr Representative of SNIM
Ladies and Gentlemen,
It is a pleasure for me to be here today with you to inaugurate a health clinic and a new water supply for Boulenwar.
This ceremony marks the start of two projects made possible by the financial support of the United States Department of Defense in the amount of almost $ 44,000 for construction of the health clinic and $22,000 from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)for construction of the water supply.
It is important to mention that nine other community projects with a value of $ 127,000 have already received funding and are being implemented for the benefit of those populations located along the railroad linking Nouadhibou and Zouerate.
These actions have as their goal to participate actively and effectively in the fight against poverty. My government has supported efforts to reduce poverty through the implementation of community development programs in partnership with SNIM and the Commission for Social Protection and Food Security
Governor of Nouadhibou,
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I can assure you that the United States government, which has always supported the efforts of Mauritania by means of bilateral and multilateral actions, will continue to work for the development of relations of cooperation, friendship and assistance between our two countries. The projects we are inaugurating today pave the way in the positive development of these relations.
Thank you.
