Education Programs

TOEFL

The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is given twice a year in Nouakchott on paper. The tests are generally given in May and October. Registration is required months in advance. Additionally, the TOEFL may be taken on paper in Dakar in August, October, March and May. Registration is required approximately 1 month in advance. Exams cost $130 (U.S. dollars), payable in local currency. Registration information for both exams can be found at the American Corner of the University of Nouakchott located at the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences and at the Embassy.

The GRE is given once a year in the spring, if there is interest. Another test date may be arranged if there is a need. The GRE and all other U.S. standardized tests may be taken in Dakar on computer regularly. Registration information is available at the American Corner of the University of Nouakchott and at the Embassy.
