The U.S. Embassy confirms that gunmen attacked a French family near the town of Aleg, resulting in multiple deaths.  At this time, the reason behind the attack is still unknown.  American citizens are, therefore, urged to heighten their awareness and maintain a low profile.  American citizens should use caution and watch for any suspicious or unusual activity.

American citizens are also urged to register with the U.S. Embassy.  They can do so in person or at https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/ui/.
