The Embassy wants to inform the American community in Mauritania that the Consular Section will remain closed for construction and is now scheduled to re-open on Monday, March 13. The Embassy will continue to provide American Citizen Services by appointment only.  You may call (222) 525-2660/2663, 525-1141/45 or 525-3038 (ext. 4551/3551) during Embassy business hours for an appointment.  In case of emergency, you may call the Embassy Duty Officer at 662-8163, or the Embassy guard post at 525-3288.

Walk-in visa services will be suspended during the same period.  The Embassy will provide emergency visa services by appointment.  You may call (222) 525-2660/2663, 525-1141/45 or 525-3038 (ext. 4551/3551) during Embassy business hours for an appointment.

U.S. citizens in Mauritania are also encouraged to register and to obtain updated information on travel and security in Mauritania at the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy at rue Abdallaye, Nouakchott, telephone (222) 525-2660/2663, 525-1141/45 or 525-3038 (ext. 4551/3551); fax 525-1592; or email ConsularNkc@state.gov.
